Another very enjoyable meeting in June. We had a roundtable discussion which included looking at environmentally friendly products for cleaning and personnel hygiene. People who had used these alternative products had found that they were both effective and pleasant to use.
One of our members then talked about her very enjoyable holiday trip across Europe by train. It sounded wonderfully relaxing without all the hassle of travelling by air. Bit of a double whammy; helping reduce carbon emissions and having a better holiday.
The discussion then moved to what the group could do for the LMU3a 35 years anniversary. Lots of exciting ideas were put forward and we finally agreed on looking at significant environmental events that happened in 1989 and what is happening now. There was also a lot of enthusiasm for creating a bibliography of books focused on the environment. We already have a lot of tips to help the environment and hope to find more useful and simple things we can all do. We are very much looking forward to exploring this and sharing the information which the rest of the members.
At our July meeting the speaker is yet to be confirmed, but we are sure to have an interesting and enjoyable meeting so join us to learn more about climate change and what we can all do to help our planet.
Next Heysham Library on Friday, 5th July 10.30.
