Membership Renewal Online

This is the best method for you and for our u3a because:

  • You will get instant recording of your renewal in our membership management system.
  • You will get a confirmation of your payment by email by from our payment facilitator.
  • You will get a confirmation of your renewal together with a digital membership card that you can download or print out.
  • You will save considerable time for our volunteers in processing your renewal details and payments.
  • We will save time and worry with dealing with issues like incorrect cheques, mismatching personal details, bundling cheques for the bank, trips to the bank, postal costs and printing.

There are many detailed notes with screenshots (see links below) to help you through the process.

Here is a brief description of how to do it.

It is no different to shopping online.

Read carefully the note below about our use of the PayPal system as a payment facilitator.

You are not paying PayPal, you are paying our u3a. You do not need to have a PayPal account.

You do not need to create one at any stage of the process. If you have a PayPal account you do not need to use it for this

1. Log on to your Members Portal page. Link to Members Portal a new tab will open, you will be leaving our website..

2. When we are in the membership renewal period you will see an option “Renew your membership”. Select this.

3. You will now see a screen headed “Gift Aid”. See Gift Aid for information about this. Choose your option.

4. The next screen tells you how much you will be paying. The page varies if there are two people at the same address. When you are happy with your choice, if needed, select “Make Payment”.

5. The next screen asks you to “Continue to PayPal to complete payment”.

6. Select the option on the next screen to “Pay by Debit or Credit Card

7. If you are not paying through a PayPal account, you will see a screen headed “Checkout as a guest”. Add your email address to receive confirmation and select “Continue to Payment

8. You can then enter your debit or credit card details and the usual billing name and address your bank requires. Untick the “Save information & create your PayPal account” button Select “Pay now as guest”

9. Confirmation screen appears. Click “Return to Seller” – that’s us!

Some of the above screens may differ and have different wording because PayPal sometimes alter their screens without notifying us.
