Four bird watchers using binoculars, gazing across the salt marsh. Lake District fells are in the distance across the bay.

We visit a wide range of sites in the immediate area and further afield where we are able to view a large variety of species throughout the year.

The group activities are aimed at all levels of birders from absolute beginners to experts. All you need is an interest in wildlife - and a pair of binoculars.

We always try to plan our visits at the optimum time for seeing local birds. So, for example, if we are hoping to see waders we visit an hour or two before high tide. By carefully planning our visits this year, we have managed to see a great variety of birds including avocets, reed buntings, black cap, chiff chaff, dunlin, spotted flycatcher, gold finch, gold crest, linnet, meadow pipit, red wing and red poll.

Everyone on the Full Day Birding list will be sent details of the next monthly trip a couple of weeks before the event.

Our current programme is here Bird Watching Programme.
