What is Beacon?
Beacon is not a part of this website
Beacon is an separate, online management system developed by the National u3a specifically for local u3as. It is maintained and administered by u3a volunteers. The system is accessed by an internet browser and can therefore be used on most computers, tablets and smartphones.
The website you are on now cannot pull information from Beacon. Similarly any actions you make when in Beacon have no effect on this website.
If you follow any of the links on this site to the Members Portal you are leaving this site and you can only access Beacon with your own personal Beacon log on.
Public Calendar
With the exception of a Public Calendar, Beacon information is only accessible by members.
The public calendar gives a restricted view of the details of group meeting dates and does not include some details that are available in the Members Calendar.
It is also available to members as a quick source of up-to-date information on meeting dates and times.
For help on using the Public Calendar read this Easy access public calendar.
Members use of Beacon
There are two types of interaction with Beacon available to our members:
- Personal - via the Beacon Members Portal for members
- Administrative - via the Beacon Administration page for Group Leaders/Facilitators and members with special roles (for example Groups Coordinator)
Each type of interaction has its own log on screen and its own log on details.
For more details on what our members can access through the Members Portal see this page Members Portal
Guides on using the Members Portal and other Beacon help can be found here Beacon Guides and Help
