This is a very friendly group of players with different levels of experience from absolute novices to players who learned years ago.
We are not at all competitive!
Beginners are very welcome and they are given a lot of personal help with help sheets and advice.
There is another group which plays in the afternoon of the second Friday in the month at the Church of the Ascension in Torrisholme and you are very welcome to join both groups.
Mah Jong was developed in China in the 19th Century and has since spread throughout the world. This has led to a lot of variations in the rules but we keep to very simple ones to give members the basics.
If more experienced players want to vary the rules slightly, that is no problem provided the rest of the players on the table agree.
Come and get hooked on this fascinating game which is good for your brain and your memory!
