Lancaster & Morecambe u3a concert group started in about 2008 going to concerts and musical events locally. We have gone by coach to Bridgewater Hall, Manchester for concerts by the Halle orchestra and BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and also to Preston and Liverpool for concerts by Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. In more recent years this has developed into usually just two visits per year.
The group page also gives notice of more local events, such as concerts by the Haffner, our local orchestra, concerts at the Priory, the university and our local choirs.
There is a coach (not u3a) which has been going from Lancaster to Bridgewater Hall for almost 50 years for a series of concerts by Halle Orchestra. Please contact Judith for further details.
There is a programme of orchestral concerts at Westmorland Hall, Kendal - see link to Lakeland Sinfonia. Concerts in the current programme are by BBC Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Manchester Camerata and Lakeland Sinfonia.
