Are you ready to embrace your inner actor, director or simply enjoy the thrill of bringing a story to life? We are thrilled to announce the proposed formation of a new Short-Play Drama Group, now named the Carnforth Curtain Call! This exciting new group is designed to be fun, accessible and intellectually engaging, focusing on short, sharp scripts that pack a punch.
What’s the Vision? The core idea is to work on a series of short, high-quality and generally quirky plays, each lasting just 10 to 15 minutes and featuring only two or three actors. These plays are often chosen for their wit and for having a memorable 'twist in the tail'!
Over the course of a term, we will select, rehearse and then stage several of these mini-dramas for a small, friendly audience of friends and family – truly giving our members a rewarding "Curtain Call" moment.
What Will Group Members Do?
This is a collaborative group and there are roles for everyone:
● Actors: You will get a chance to take on specific roles in the chosen short plays.
● Directors: Members are welcome to try their hand at directing one of the short pieces, with guidance available.
● Readers: We'll start by reading through a selection of scripts together to find the ones that excite us most.
Key Details & Commitment
As we will be working towards a performance, a degree of commitment is essential. Once the casting is decided, we will rely on all members to attend rehearsals regularly.
