This is a fun game especially suitable for beginners and older players, even if you haven't played for decades!
The court is the same size as a tennis mini court, but with different line markings and very different paddles and plastic balls.
Anyone who has played table tennis, badminton or tennis will adapt to it very quickly. The paddles are light, serving is underarm and the game is not too strenuous. Scoring is similar to badminton.
It requires a reasonable level of fitness and balance; please use suitable footwear such as trainers. Please consult the Pickleball Guidance document below.
We play Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons from March to September, weather permitting. Please contact the Co-ordinator for details.
We have a WhatsApp Group which makes it easy to see how many members are going to a session or if it has been cancelled at the last minute because of adverse weather.
Lancaster Tennis Club provide the paddles and balls. Please make sure you always sign in so we know how many people have played and paid. If there aren't enough Pickleball players on a day, you may have to play with Club members.
The tennis courts are all-weather, but the pickleball court cannot be used in the wind or rain for safety reasons.
