Four people and a cox rowing under the Lune Aqueduct.

We meet at the Lancaster John O’Gaunt Rowing Club every Monday on a peaceful stretch of the River Lune.

New recruits are sometimes surprised to hear that we are active 12 months of the year! There is no “off-season” for rowers. The only things which stop us are a very high tide coming up over Skerton Weir or if the river is swollen after heavy rain or snow-melt.

The u3a Rowing Group rows on a recreational basis rather than high performance, i.e., not strenuous.

All members of Lancaster and Morecambe u3a are welcome, providing they are able to swim (just in case of an emergency!)

PLEASE TELEPHONE for availability; contact details are available through the Members Portal.

Parking on road. Bus number 49.

Calm water with reflections on the River Lune; a coxed four in evening light.

Members can find details of all groups and contacts here Members Portal .
