Come and enjoy an afternoon with a friendly bunch of dancers, having fun whilst keeping your brain and body active - and if you need more incentive, we even provide a drink and biscuits!

Our dances are mostly sequence based, but we include freestyle ballroom/Latin, old time and non-partner dances so that everyone can join in something. We send members a list of the dances we’ll be doing in advance.

We’re happy to welcome everyone whether you’re a beginner, or danced years ago and want to start again, or are fairly experienced and actively dancing – we all muck in and help each other so you don’t need a partner as long as ladies are happy to pair up when need be.

If you have proper dance shoes, that’s fab, but it’s not a requirement. The main thing is to try and have footwear that’s light and fairly smooth-soled so your feet don’t stick to the
floor – it just makes it easier for you to move around.
And, hot off the press, we’ve just introduced some pre-tea dance sessions for anyone who wants to learn or go over basic steps; sometimes we’ll learn a full dance when we have
the basics covered. These start around 1.10pm and end just before the main dance starts.

This year we are jointly hosting our first ever Summer Dance and last year we ran dedicated sessions for people going on a u3Aa trip to Blackpool Tower Ballroom who wanted to learn some dances so they could work off their afternoon tea on the famous dance floor.

Tea dances run twice monthly on Mondays from 2 – 4pm at the Church of the Ascension in Torrisholme as it has good parking and is on convenient bus routes.

Dates for all dances plus details of the beginners’ sessions are on the calendar.
We look forward to welcoming you! Geoffrey, Sue & Neil

There is a car park and parking on local roads. Buses 1, 1A and 83 stop close by. Wheelchair accessible.
